Watch Your Step: Staying Safe in the Workplace

November 20, 2014 Staples Advantage

Preparation for winter starts early in most offices, with contingency plans and telecommuting policies already mapped out and bags of salt waiting in reserve. But with nearly half of the country seeing significant amounts of snow before the turkey’s even carved this year (brr!), it’s time to slow down—literally—and go back to the basics of keeping workers safe from slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

Slips, trips and falls were the top concern of respondents to Staples’ Safety Survey, and OSHA revealed slip/fall issues were the #1 most cited violation at this year’s National Safety Expo.

Stocking up on personal protective equipment, floor mats, cleaning tools and solutions, and other products can help keep your building clean, dry and safe for your workers and customers. But it’s important to combine all the right products with a plan to avoid slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

HR and staffing consortium Randstad has put together a series of great materials on avoiding slips, trips and falls in the workplace. Check out their video, infographic and whitepaper at Workforce 360 and start reviewing your own safety plans today.
